Our infill granules for artificial turf give every player the chance to fulfil his or her maximum potential. Professionals are quick to recognise: wherever you find artificial grass in good condition, Melos must have had a hand in it. Melos® Infill Granules give the field optimal elasticity even when subjected to high mechanical stresses.
The synthetic turf and the granule complement each other and together constitute an ideal system that comes very close to the characteristics of natural turf. Because the materials and the mix are individually coordinated with precisely that goal in mind. Artificial grass scores with its low maintenance and climate resistance, to which Melos® Infill Granule adds ideal playing properties over an extended lifetime. It prevents hardening.
Attenuation, bouncing and rolling properties are unchanged. It also puts paid to the danger of grazes or burns. This almost dust-free granulate is unaffected by ozone and UV light, wear-resistant and free of heavy-metals. Our EPDM and TPE infill granules are composed of fully specified components. And naturally our quality granules for indoor use are also flame-retardant.
Four types at a glance
SBR infill material
The most cost-effective infill granules. The material has a high rubber content that gives it very good elasticity. The carbon black gives it impressive resistance to UV and the weather. Since this product is manufactured from recycled materials (principally old car tyres) some variation in quality cannot entirely be ruled out. Depending on the length of time the original material was used, it may become brittle after a relatively short time. Because the material was originally manufactured for a different purpose this granulate’s PAH and zinc content are extremely variable and may be quite high. It is not possible to flameproof this material.

PUR-coated SBR
Doubly beneficial in combination: PUR-coated SBR combines the good elasticity of SBR materials with a free choice of colours. In price, this material lies between SBR and EPDM infill granules, which makes PUR-coated SBR the logical alternative where coloured (green or brown) granules are to be used and where the material’s environmental toxicity is of secondary importance. It is not possible to flameproof this material. |

EPDM infill granules
Proven and flexible: the tried and tested infill material since rubberised artificial grass was first introduced. Since it is produced especially for playing fields the material can be tailored to individual requirements, so it is possible to supply flame-retardant and foamed granules in any desired colour. EPDM infill granules are naturally non-fading and weatherproof. The use of suitable pigments guarantees long-lasting colours, and choosing appropriate cross-linking chemicals produces a material with excellent eco- toxical properties and PAH values under 1 mg/kg. The EPDM infill granules can be tailored to the specific turf in order to obtain an optimised system.

TPE infill granules
Innovative and versatile: thermoplastic elastomers (TPEs) are the very latest development in the field of infill granules. We distinguish the types TPE-S and TPE-V. TPE-S materials on the basis of SEBS are not only light-fast and weatherproof but also durable. Both types can be tailored directly to your particular system for optimal elasticity, flameretardance and ageing properties. With suitably chosen primary products, their environmental toxicity characteristics are excellent. This infill material has gratifyingly low wear and high elasticity, and its thermoplastic properties enable it to be recycled.
