Brought to the point: The point-elastic flooring systems from Melos.
Not every floor covering in sports halls is equally suitable for every type of sport. For example, the movement sequences for volleyball are different from those for dancing, gymnastics or indoor football. In order to be able to optimally dissipate the forces generated by movement and thus protect the joints, tendons, muscles and ligaments of the athletes, there are various flooring systems to choose from on the market. Melos GmbH offers both point-elastic and combi-elastic systems, as they offer the greatest possible protection for the athletes on the one hand, but also cover the greatest application and usage possibilities on the other. In the following, the advantages of point-elastic flooring systems are explicitly discussed.
Point-elastic means that point loads, e.g. after a jump or fall, can be cushioned particularly well by the flexible elastic layer. This means that even small loads on the floor are sufficient to give way at certain points. This means that the force is released very quickly and is particularly effective. By comparison: with area-elastic systems, only very large forces acting on the floor cause it to give way. It is therefore not surprising that the demand for point-elastic flooring systems remains high. In addition to the advantages mentioned so far, this flooring system can score with further benefits.
Melos GmbH offers its customers two systems of point-elastic floor coverings at once: POLYCOMP INDOOR CLASSIC and POLYCOMP INDOOR PREMIUM. Both systems have in common their point elasticity when force is applied. The main differences are in their respective structures. The CLASSIC system has an elastic mat made of recycled SBR rubber, while the PREMIUM system has an elastic mat made of a particularly low-emission foam. Both versions are certified in different layer thicknesses according to the EN 14904 standard for indoor sports floors and are classified in class Cfl-s1 according to EN 13501-1.
The individual products used in our flooring system, for example primer, adhesive, coating or sealer, are all solvent-free. The water-based sealant is particularly durable, as abrasion during use is minimal. Sports functional properties are thus preserved in the long term.
